Profitable and Priceless

by Dorothy on April 29, 2010

Recently I  had the opportunity to attend the Dove Awards with my sister Lynn. After a very busy week in Nashville and a few busy days in New York before that, I just wanted to enjoy the evening. Being an artist myself, I was looking forward to taking in all of the wonderful performances of fellow Christian artists as well as celebrate the winners. The show was fantastic and a few of my fellow classmates from college even got to take home an award, which was pretty fantastic. All in all, the awards did not disappoint.

As enjoyable as the awards were and as exciting as the atmosphere was I have to say that the most memorable parts of the evening were when I was laughing with my sister over wardrobe malfunctions and opting to have a late night nosh fest with a dear girlfriend rather then go “network” at a label party. After the evening was over and we finally arrived home around 1:45 am, I was reminded once again how fellowship with one another and building relationships  for the purposes of friendship and love are what is most important. Networking is is profitable, building memories with loved ones and friends is priceless. I hope I never loose sight of that.

I too watched the awards, and yes they were great…quite often I found myself thinking that I may soon see you (or maybe even my daughter some day) on that stage! Congrats on your release! You’ve done a great job! Great post as I wish more people would realize the value in friendship vs. their own advancement!
